Quadriplegic Diving Accidents
Dr. Rowley is recognized as one of the leading experts on quadriplegic diving accidents. He has been consulted on over 100 cases involving this type of accident, in which a person experiences damage to the spinal cord, often resulting in paralysis.
Dr. Rowley has researched the effects of various potential elements that may or may not be relevant in any particular diving accident case, such as the serving and consumption of alcohol, warning issues, etcetera. Working closely with biomechanical engineering associates, he has developed a computer program that, using the laws of motion, is capable of creating a parametric computerized accident-specific reconstruction that includes forces, velocities, and trajectories – facilitating the understanding of virtually every aspect of how a particular dive can affect the diver's body before, during, and after impact.
